Grey-scale high-resolution scrotal ultrasound demonstrates a hydrocele and a sessile, oval-shaped appendix in the upper pole of the left testis.
Case Discussion
The appendix of testis is also called hydatid of Morgagni and is formed during development of the genito-urinary system. It is isoechogenic to the testicular parenchyma on grey-scale ultrasound and is best visualized in patients with hydrocele as in this case.
