Simple diagram of an arterial fenestration. Note the single proximal origin with distal convergence.

Case Discussion

An arterial fenestration is the divergence of an artery's lumen into two separate parallel divisions before converging distally into a single lumen (single proximal origin with distal convergence). This contrasts with an arterial duplication in which there are separate origins without later convergence.
