Ellipsoid hypoechogenicity is seen anterosuperior to the spleen. It shows hyperechoic structures representing the portal triads and was confirmed to be a continuation of the left hepatic lobe.
Case Discussion
Beaver tail liver is an anatomical variant where the left hepatic lobe extends to surrounds the spleen. Care should be taken in patients presented after trauma to avoid misdiagnosing this variant as a splenic sucapsular hematoma 1.
