Bipartite scaphoid

History of trauma at level of base of proximal phalanx of index finger. Incidental finding at scaphoid bone.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

An oblique complete intra-articular avulsion fracture at the base of the proximal phalanx of index finger.
A note is made of a well corticated bony fragment at line of scaphoid bone axis (bipartite scaphoid bone).

Case Discussion

History of trauma at the level of base of proximal phalanx of index finger ( the site of patient complaint).
Incidental finding of a bipartite scaphoid bone noted as two bony fragments (the site of interest with no tenderness).
