Three days increasing LIF pain
Patient Data





There is a 10 cm length of sigmoid colon with a thickened wall and multiple diverticula with extensive surrounding peri-mesenteric fat stranding.
No free intra-abdominal air or intra-abdominal collections.
Scattered uncomplicated small diverticula in the descending colon.
The bladder is normal. No para-aortic adenopathy. The liver, pancreas and spleen are normal. The kidneys enhance homogenously. Atherosclerotic disease of the abdominal aorta. Mild degenerative change at the thoracolumbar junction.
Incidental left intertrochanteric femoral simple bone cyst approximately 12 mm in diameter.
Conclusion:
Localised sigmoid colonic diverticulitis with associated microperforation (free gas within the sigmoid mesentery). No pericolonic collection.
