Case Discussion

Staphyloma refers to the thinning and stretching of the sclera, resulting in the bulging of the uvea, which may be anterior, posterior, or equatorial. Patients present with a bulging, protruding eye globe and experience a loss of vision. Imaging perspectives show an elongated eye globe, with focal anterior protrusion and a thinned-out scleral uveal rim.

Differential diagnoses include coloboma, axial myopia, and congenital glaucoma.
