Presentation

Non-traumatic origin of pain on radial aspect of wrist. Painful thumb movements.

Patient Data

Age: about 40 yrs
Gender: Female
Ultrasound

Thickened sheath is noted around the extensor pollicis brevis tendon. A tiny ganglion is noted just proximal to the thickened sheath.

Case Discussion

Findings favour De Quervain tenosynovitis selective to the extensor pollicis brevis tendon.

A tiny ganglion is noted just proximal to thickened sheath.
