Intervertebral disc extrusion in the L5/S1 level into lateral recess with caudal migration. Extruded disc is isointense on T1W and hyperintense on T2W/STIR with the rim signal intensity enhancement on the postcontrast scan.

Case Discussion

The patient has a long history of a mild lower back pain.

A month ago he experienced severe pain with radiation to the left leg after bending forward to reach for his kid. He was treated with NSAID with only mild improvement.

On the day of the examination, he has 7/10 lower back pain radiating to the left leg.
