Gender: Male

Slightly displaced fracture of the distal scaphoid tubercle/pole. Small associated bony chip. 

Case Discussion

  • distal fractures make up 20% of all scaphoid fractures
  • differentiation between distal articular surface and distal tubercle/pole is important
  • plain radiographs may miss up to 30% of scaphoid fractures
