Presentation
Punch injury.
Patient Data

There is mildly displaced fracture involving the dorsal carpus only well appreciated on lateral projection. Associated overlying soft tissue swelling. This probably represents a fracture of the dorsal hamate but further assessment with CT is advised.

Transverse coronally-orientated fracture of the dorsal aspect of the hamate body with mild dorsal displacement measuring 3 mm maximally. The fracture involves the dorsal aspect of the articulation between the hamate and the triquetrum.
No other fracture identified. Carpal alignment is normal. /Incidental small bone islands in the proximal pole of the scaphoid and distal hamate.
Case Discussion
