Info

The MRI sequences demonstrate a posterior epidural mass at L2-L3 level, of high signal intensity on both T1WI/T2WI, partially attenuated on STIR sequence with moderate heterogeneous enhancement on postcontrast sequences. A mass effect is noted on the adjacent nerve roots which are displaced anteriorly.

Lumbar disc disease with disc herniation on the right side at the L4-S1 level, compressing the adjacent S1 nerve root.

Case Discussion

MRI features are most consistent of an epidural angiolipoma, displacing the adjacents nerve roots (incidental finding) in a patient with disc herniation.
