Abnormal antenatal ultrasound.

Patient Data

Age: 32 weeks

Fetal MRI

Modality: MRI

Bilateral clefts extending to the lateral ventricles.

Fetal MRI confirms the clefts are lined with grey-matter which distinguishes shizencephaly from porencephalic cyst.

Case Discussion

Bilateral schizencephaly is commonly open lip (as in this case).
