Presentation

Right upper quadrant pain. No past history of surgery.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

The gallbladder and cystic duct are not visualized on any sequence including on 3D-MRCP. The intrahepatic biliary ducts and common bile duct are not dilated. 

Case Discussion

MRI features of gallbladder agenesis which is considered as an extremely rare congenital malformation.

Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP)  is the gold standard imaging modality to confirm the diagnosis, and exclude the possibility of an ectopic gallbladder.
