A large heterogeneous cystic lesion in segment IV/V of the liver showing mixed hypo and hyperechoic intracystic component (ball of wool sign). Note the previously seen daughter cysts have resolved. This represents an inactive stage of hydatid cyst (stage CE 4).
Case Discussion
The case demonstrates the transformation of the hepatic hydatid cyst from active to inactive stage.
