Mammographic breast composition:
- A: involuted breast is almost entirely fat (1-24% residual glandularity)
- B: scattered fibroglandular densities (25-50%)
- C: heterogeneously dense breast tissue (51-75%)
- D: extremely dense (>75% glandularity)
Case Discussion
Dense breasts have a 4-6 fold increase in life time risk of breast cancer.
