Info

Iliotibial band high signal with adjacent soft tissue edema at its insertion onto the anterolateral tibia. No high signal between the iliotibial band and lateral femoral condyle.

Very small joint effusion.

Menisci and ligaments are unremarkable.

There is no bone marrow edema.

Case Discussion

MRI findings clearly explain the patient's anterolateral knee pain with iliotibial band enthesitis. This is not an iliotibial band syndrome, which occurs more proximally at the level of the lateral femoral condyle.
