Left atrial enlargement

The esophagus is displaced posteriorly and to the left side with mid oesophagal narrowing that doesn't persist all through the study suggesting external compression. The shadow of the enlarged left atrium is noted on oblique views. Also a large amount of contrast reflux at Trendelenburg position is noted.
On the control, AP view the subcarinal angle is splayed in keeping with left atrial enlargement.

Case Discussion
The esophagus comes in contact with the left atrium hence, left atrial dilatation displace the esophagus and resulted in dysphagia.
