Low back pain. No history of trauma.

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

 A well-corticated bony fragment is seen at the anterosuperior aspect of L4 vertebral body. Normal paravertebral soft tissues. 

Case Discussion

Limbus vertebra is an anatomic variant usually discovered incidentally. It can be confused with a fracture.

It represents herniation of the nucleus pulposus through a defect in the anterior margin of the vertebral body end plate
