Lateral radiograph of both heels demonstrates comminuted intra-articular fractures of both calcanea. The fracture fragments on the right side show mild displacement. There is flattening of Boehler's angle bilaterally.
Case Discussion
The calcaneum is the most common fractured tarsal bone. This fracture tends to be bilateral 10 % of cases. Vertebral fractures are associated with calcaneum fractures in 10 % of the cases, hence need to be ruled out.
