Two pockets of localized fluid collection within the subcutaneous tissue at the medial and lateral aspect of the knee joint with the medial one being larger in size. They overly the medial and lateral femoral condyles as a bony prominence.

Case Discussion

Degloving injury of the knee may result in separation of the skin and subcutaneous tissue from underlying fascia with accumulation of hemolymphatic collection. The condition is termed Morel-Lavallée lesion.
