Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
MRI

The supraclinoid part of both internal carotid arteries is not visualised, with the nearby basal cisterns containing numerous vascular collateral channels.

Generalised brain atrophic changes inappropriate to the age of the patient due to chronic ischemia.

DSA (angiography)

Conventional angiographic images confirm occlusion of both internal carotid arteries beyond C3 segments.

Mesh of small vascular collaterals are again seen.

Case Discussion

Changes are consistent with moya moya pattern.
