A: Trauma (surgical, repeated cautery, digital trauma (nose picking)); malignant disease; chronic inflammatory conditions (Wegener's granulomatosis, syphilis, tuberculosis); poisons (industrial, cocaine related injury, topical corticosteroids, topical decongestants).
