Presentation

Headache, suspected sinusitis.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Sinuses

ct

Clear paranasal sinuses without significant mucosal thickening.

Medial herniation of the left orbital fat into left ethmoidal air cells is seen, with medial deviation of the left medial rectus muscle.

Moderate left-sided deviation of the nasal septum is noted with hypertrophy of the right middle and both inferior nasal turbinates.

Ethmoid bulla on the right side protruding into the roof of the right nasal cavity.

Case Discussion

This case illustrates some anatomical variations of the ostiomeatal complex. Medial herniation of the orbital fat is seen as postsurgical changes to that area.
