Presentation
Severe pain during sexual intercourse 36 hours earlier, now unable to achieve erection
Patient Data

1.5 cm defect in the tunica albuginea of the left corpus cavernosum just distal to the junction between the left crus and shaft of the penis, with clear extravasation of acute hemorrhage into the superficial tissues of the penis. No urethral involvement or obstruction. No other abnormalities.
Case Discussion
The local urological surgeons deemed this to be a potentially tricky repair due to the proximity of the tunica rupture to the intraperineal portion of the penis, which is uncommon; most fractures affect the distal 2/3 of the shaft. In view of this, the patient was transferred to the regional andrology surgical service as an emergency.
