By injecting the contrast medium through a Foley catheter, a small trabeculated urinary bladder with multiple outpouchings is seen, resembling a Christmas tree or pine cone.

Case Discussion

The retrograde cystogram demonstrates a Christmas tree or pine cone bladder that typically refers to a neurogenic bladder. Occasionally, as in this case, it is also seen in a long-standing bladder neck obstruction.
