Moderate size acute haemorrhage centrally in the pons.  No mass effect. No intraventricular haemorrhage. No hydrocephalus.

Case Discussion

Typical appearances of a hypertensive pontine haemorrhage.  The mechanism is similar to those in the basal ganglia due to haemorrhage from the perforator vessels.
