Left median nerve cross-sectional diameter is increased at 0.18 sq cm at the carpal tunnel outlet. Flexor retinaculum appears continuous with focal compression of the median nerve.
Case Discussion
The patient never had improvement of symptoms post-operatively and nerve conduction studies demonstrated median nerve dysfunction at the level of the wrist. Ultrasound demonstrates an intact flexor retinaculum (presumably incompletely divided at surgery) with compression of the median nerve and distal thickening.
