mri

An expansile well-defined presacral round solid mass arising from the second sacral foramen just to the left of midline. It shows heterogeneous signal intensity and dense contrast enhancement. It is measuring 6.2 x 5.8 cm. There is evidence of erosion of left second sacral foramen with the mass extension from the neural foramen.

Case Discussion

This patient's ultrasound examination (not shown) had revealed a solid mass anterior to the sacrum, displacing the uterus.

Surgery and histology confirmed our pre-operative diagnosis of sacral schwannoma.
