A well defined, corticated opacity is noted in the posterior soft tissue of the neck at the level of the C4 and C5, inferring sesamoid ossicle of the nuchal ligament.
Case Discussion
Sesamoid ossicles of the nuchal ligament are a relatively common anatomical variant, usually asymptomatic. They shouldn't be mistaken with myositis ossificans, avulsion fractures, calcareous bursitis, or calcium hydroxyapatite deposition disease.
