Fluid with internal echoes and thin septa separates the epidermis and the dermis. Edema involving underlying subcutaneous fat.
Case Discussion
The patient with distal leg, ankle, and foot dorsal region cellulitis was referred to check for loculated collection/ tenosynovitis/ joint effusion. However, there were none of these.
Skin blister elevates the superficial thin echogenic layer of the epidermis from the deeper, thicker, hypoechoic dermis.
