Patient Data

Large suprasellar cystic lesion with CSF signal, subsequent streching of the corpus callosum, optic chiasma as well as third ventricular floor is noted. CSF flow artifacts is demonstrated on axial FLAIR images. Dilated both lateral ventricles suggest obstructive hydrocephalus. RT cystoperitoneal shunting is demonstrated.
Case Discussion
Suprasellar arachnoid cyst is a rare variety which may be asymptomatic and may present with hydrocephalus, visual impairment or endocrinal disorders, however hydrocephalus is the most encountered manifestation. A Suprasellar arachnoid cyst should have strict follow up as it may suddenly enlarge.
