Presentation
Swallowing difficulties. Right neck lump.
Patient Data
Large right thyroid nodule. Superomedially it is spongiform and contains colloid. Inferolaterally is solid, isoechoic and hypervascular. The trachea appears mildly narrowed measuring approximately 13mm at the level of the nodule and 18mm below.
No lymphadenopathy.
Oesopahgus displaced and partially narrowed by the impression from a large right thyroid lobe goiter.
The remainder of the esophagus is normal. No dysmotility.
3.8cm solid-cystic right lobe of thyroid nodule. Mild tracheal displacement.
Case Discussion
A decent example of the mass effect a thyroid nodule can have on the esophagus and in doing so causing dysphagia.
