Unicornuate uterus

Presentation

History of two previous abortions, irregular menstrual cycles and difficulty to get pregnant.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

Hysterosalpingography

Fluoroscopy

Hysterosalpingogram shows just the left side of the uterus filling in the contrast study suggesting a unicornuate uterus. Some filling failure is also seen in the uterus body.

Case Discussion

This case illustrates a typical unicornuate uterus, a Müllerian duct anomaly that is often associated with primary infertility, obstetric complications, amenorrhea and is commonly associated with renal anomalies.

Complementary assessment with pelvic ultrasound can help to confirm this condition.
