Case Discussion

Unilateral pulmonary artery atresia (UPAA) is a congenital defect believed to result from the embryonic sixth aortic arch failing to connect with the pulmonary trunk during development. Although commonly identified in pediatric patients with cardiac anomalies, it can sometimes be diagnosed in adults, either incidentally or more frequently during an evaluation for hemoptysis.
