Presentation
Recurrent urinary tract infections and increased urinary frequency.
Patient Data

Intravenous pyelogram shows bilateral duplex kidneys. On the right side, upper moiety ureter enters distally and is associated with a ureterocele. A well-defined intravesical filling defect centered on the right vesicoureteric junction (cobra head sign) with mild proximal ureteric dilatation indicates a ureterocele.
Case Discussion
Ureterocele in children is usually associated with a duplex renal collecting system. Ureteroceles are often asymptomatic in adults and not associated with an anatomical deformity like a duplex collecting system.
In symptomatic patients, surgery is often required, especially in obstructive uropathy cases.
