Annotated ultrasound of a normal uterine tube:
- ampulla = red arrow
- infundibulum = blue arrow
- fimbriae = yellow arrow
- uterus = green arrow
- ascites = brown dot
Case Discussion
Usually the uterine tubes are not assessed well by ultrasound, but in this case, a good amount of free fluid delineate the uterus and the uterine tube, also the fimbriae (finger-like projections) is clearly seen.
