Cephalohematoma, caput succedaneum and epidural hematoma

Discussion:

This child had a 5 minute Apgar score of 2 and an umbilical artery cord serum pH of 6.7. The child developed seizures on the first day of life and was treated with hypothermia. 

MRI was not done until 12 days of age when the child was noted to be lethargic.

The epidural hematoma was treated neurosurgically.

This child is developmentally normal at age 2 years.
