Dacryocystitis and nasolacrimal duct obstruction

Discussion:

The case illustrates dacryocystitis or infection of the lacrimal sac which is the most common pathology of the sac and is usually due to nasolacrimal duct obstruction (NLDO) that causes a secondary infection of eyelids, preseptal and lacrimal sac wall, and content. The most common cause of secondary NLDO is previous trauma.
