Info

A comminuted fracture is present in the base of the 5th metatarsal bone, reaching the metatarsocuboid articular surface. Mild adjacent soft-tissue edema is also observed.

Case Discussion

Avulsion fractures of the 5th metatarsal styloid should be differentiated from other fractures at the base of the 5th metatarsal because these fractures can be treated conservatively and heal well.
