Presentation
Right hip pain. Drehmann sign positive.
Patient Data

Dysplastic acetabulum with insufficient covering of the femoral head. Joint space narrowing, subchondral sclerosis and osteophytes at the femoroacetabular joint. Prominent bump at the antero-superior head-neck junction of the femur (cam deformity, also known as pistol grip deformity of the proximal femur).
Case Discussion
Both cam deformity and hip dysplasia can lead to premature degenerative joint disease. "Bumps" at the femoral head-neck junction may be a cam lesion or represent degenerative osteophytes, it can be difficult to discriminate in the setting of osteoarthritis.
