Lytic changes are seen involving the right part of C2 vertebral body, with extensive inflammation and hypodense collection within the anterior paravertebral space. The findings are compatible with osteomyelitis; no sign of discitis were present on the sagittal reconstruction. No epidural abscess.
Case Discussion
Tuberculous spondylitis must be considered in the differential diagnosis, even though rarer in North America. Tuberculous spondylitis (Pott disease) was later confirmed.
