Heterogenous lesion in the right frontal lobe, where a dark hemosiderin ring and popcorn appearance are typical for cavernous angioma.

Case Discussion

A cavernous angioma in the brain is seen as a heterogenous lesion with popcorn appearance, due to different stages of hemorrhage within the lesion. A complete ring of hemosiderosis is usually noted around the lesion, with some flaring of dark signal into the adjacent white matter tracts.

The blooming effect is considerable in the GRE sequence.
