Pancreas is characterized as tenuous foci of densification amid retroperitoneal fat. There is a uniform fatty replacement of pancreas.

Fatty replacement of the pancreas is most often associated with obesity and aging. This patient has only hypertension.
Other causes include diabetes, hyperlipidemia, chronic pancreatitis, alcoholic hepatitis, cystic fibrosis (most common cause in childhood) and Cushing’s syndrome.
