Shrunken, irregular left globe with dense internal calcification. Normal right orbit.
Unremarkable intracranial appearances.
Case Discussion
Phthisis bulbi is an atrophic, scarred and disorganized globe that may result from a variety of severe ocular insults. Dystrophic calcification is common, as in this case.
Causes include post-trauma, infection, radiation therapy.
