Presentation
Severe pelvic pain in patient with known NSCLC ? bone metastasis
Patient Data

Large right paratracheal mass (known NSCLC primary) with multiple miliary lung parenchymal metastases.
Large mixed lytic and sclerotic metastasis in the right hemiplevis (and left) showing typical sunburst periosteal new bone as usually seen in osteosarcoma or less commonly Ewings sarcoma. Note associated large soft tissue component.
Case Discussion
Non small cell lung cancer is common. One of the typical sites of metastasis, aside from mediastinal lymph nodes, liver and adrenal glads is the bones.
Bone metastases in lung cancer may be lytic, sclerotic or mixed.
