Presentation

Erythema, swelling and pain at volar aspect of right wrist. Pulsatile collection palpable. On treatment for infected distal forearm collection post arterial line insertion during admission for STEMI three weeks prior.

A 20 x 16 x 15 mm pseudoaneurysm arising from the radial artery is present.

Case Discussion

This is a case of a distal radial artery pseudoaneurysm arising in the setting of previous arterial line insertion with overlying soft tissue infection. The pseudoaneurysm was surgically explored and excised. There was adequate collateral flow from the ulnar artery.
