Presentation
Twisting injury to knee. Tender medially.
Patient Data
There is bone marrow edema in the posteromedial tibial plateau in a subchondral location with a T1 undisplaced hypointense fracture line present. Mild hyperintensity within the distal semimembranosus tendon, however, this appears intact. There is hyperintensity on the deep surface of the oblique popliteal ligament, however, the ligament appears intact. There is edema along the expected location of the posterior oblique ligament.
Inner margin blunting of the body and posterior horn medial meniscus. Lateral meniscus is intact. Collateral and cruciate ligaments are intact. Posterolateral corner structures appear uninjured
Case Discussion
Posteromedial corner injuries are uncommon. They are often associated with anterior cruciate ligament injuries, although this case is isolated to the posteromedial corner.
