Info
Both lobes of the thyroid glands are diffusely enlarged in size showing hypoechoic echotexture. Multiple small areas of color flow are noted within the thyroid glands representing increased vascularity and arteriovenous shunting, the so-called thyroid inferno.
Case Discussion
The differential diagnosis for Grave's disease is Hashimoto's thyroiditis. In the latter one, the thyroid glands usually have normal or decreased vascularity and contain numerous tiny hypoechoic nodules.
