Presentation
Non-specific pain in the medial compartment of the joint
Patient Data

There are small degenerative changes in the posterior horn of the medial meniscus, a small Baker cyst, as well as a small bony structure in the tendon of the medial head of gastrocnemius muscle, in the area of its attachment site, which is consistent with a sesamoid bone.
Case Discussion
In this case, we are dealing with a small bone structure located in the thickness of the tendon, which by definition can be attributed to be a sesamoid bone. In the literature, fabella is almost always found in the tendon of the lateral head of the gastrocnemius, occasionally it is also found on the medial side 1.
