Info
A fracture through the neck of the 5th metacarpal bone is seen with mild palmar angulation, consistent with boxer fracture.
Persistent ulnar styloid ossicle is also seen.
Case Discussion
Persistent ulnar styloid ossicle is -an accessory ossicle- unfused secondary ossification center which is seen at the usual location of the ulnar styloid process. It is usually seen as a well-corticated bony fragment with smooth margins. This accessory ossicle should not be mistaken for fracture fragment or loose body.
